In recent years, Detroit techno pioneer Jeff Mills has indulged his more experimental avant-garde side, with conceptual pieces on space science, Egyptology, jazz and Afrobeat – as well as holding a residency at the Louvre in Paris. But thankfully he’s still playing his relentless DJ sets, and maintaining his reputation as a true techno innovator.
Mills is in Dublin tonight for a three-hour rip-up of outer limits techno DJing and drum machine improv, with ferocious high-wire mixing and a masterful control of pacing. Be prepared for the strobe-lit electrocution section at the end.
