Autumns’ industrial strength EBM – Found It

Christian Donaghey knows his way round a nihilistic album title. In the last few years as Autumns, he’s released Pissing Away My Youth, You’re Not an Artist, You’re a Dickhead, and Take Your Leather Gloves and Fuck Off, and it really does go on.

The Derry man’s latest release is called A Life Has No Glory, so you know right off you’re not in Spotify hand-heart dance banger playlist territory. He’s just released the first track off the EP, ‘Found It’, a panel-beating EBM pile-up that throttles past with malevolent kinetic energy. It takes literally 4 seconds for the army boot kick drum to knock things into shape — a bit Nitzer Ebb, a bit Terrence Fixmer, with a bit of his home city thrown in (track 2 is called ‘Bogside Overpass’).

Autumns has a fairly rapid release ethic, with nearly 50 releases on his Bandcamp, and you’ll never hear anything less than industrial grade menace. Still, you can’t take this shit for granted.
