In the last few years, Pride events in Ireland have grown exponentially, we voted an emphatic Yes in the marriage referendum, and no one batted a false eyelash when drag queen Panti Bliss was declared the Queen of Ireland.
Dublin promoters Mother have also continued to run one of the city’s best dance clubs and stages at festivals, while their annual Pride Block Party sells out in no time every year.
So there’s never been a better time for a festival aimed at the LGBTQ+ community and their friends, and Love Sensation’s first edition is set to be a riot of house, electronica, pop, R&B, neo-soul and performance art.
Speaking at the launch, Mother founder and promoter Cormac Cashman said: “Love Sensation feels like a natural progression for us. We’ve wanted to run a music festival for years, something that caters to our community and focuses on inclusivity, fun, good music, good times and sound people… 2019 feels right for us to grow even bigger and launch our own music festival!”
The stages are rammed with good vibe acts, with big names including Lily Allen, Clean Bandit, Kelis, Gossip, Horsemeat Disco, Le Galaxie, Honey Dijon and Dublin drag veterans Dragged Up including Monet X Change, Naomi Smalls, Jujubee, Laganja Estranja and Sonique”. And with the whole thing hosted by Panti herself, dull moments won’t be an option.
